What does TalkTalk TV offer?

Like BT’s TV service, TalkTalk TV is based on the YouView set top box. TalkTalk’s YouView boxes come in two varieties: the standard TalkTalk TV box and the TalkTalk TV Plus box.

Both boxes let you access the full suite of Freeview channels, as well as streaming services such as Neflix and catch-up services like BBC iPlayer and Demand 5 — all of which are presented in a single, well-designed user interface that makes it easy to see what’s on and find what you want to watch.

Both YouView boxes also allow you to pause and rewind live TV and rent and buy movies and TV shows on-demand. However, with the TalkTalk TV Plus box you can also record live TV, with space for up to 180 hours of TV.

If you want to add extra channels to your package, you can through TalkTalk’s themed TV Boosts for an additional monthly charge. The Kids TV boost, for instance, bundles together channels from Disney and Nickelodeon, while the TV Starter Boost adds Sky 1 and 2, plus Sky Living and Sky Arts 1. You can also add Sky’s sports and movies channels.

Perhaps the best thing about TalkTalk’s TV service is the price, with the cheapest TV and broadband offering priced a shade over £20 per month.

TalkTalk TV Boosts operate on a rolling contract basis, so you’re able to cancel whenever you like with a month’s notice.
